SQL is not just "queries to the database". It's a way of thinking about data as relationships and sets, not just files on a disk.
Why is SQL immortal?
In a world of technology that changes every week, SQL has remained constant since the 1970s. Why? Because the Relational Model is a mathematically correct way to describe business reality. An order always belongs to a customer. An invoice always has line items. SQL lets us record these truths in code.
Our approach
We don't write "simple selects". We design database schemas so they are:
- Normalized: We eliminate redundancy, which prevents errors.
- Indexed: Every query must run in milliseconds, even with millions of records.
- Secure: We use parameters and stored procedures to eliminate the risk of SQL Injection.
At Tesserakt we treat SQL as a first-class programming language, caring for the quality of SQL code just as much as for TypeScript or Python.
