Behind the scenes
The history of the OSP in Łętownia is a story of service, courage and community. Before we turned on the cameras for the first time, we spent weeks getting to know that history – browsing commemorative books, chronicles and old photographs, while archival recordings from VHS tapes became a valuable testimony to the decades gone by.
A memory that needs to be "warmed up"
The most valuable memories were held in the memory of the oldest firefighters. We organised a special meeting for them that let them return to days gone by, come together and share stories that cannot be found in any chronicle. It was these conversations that revealed the film's protagonists and became the heart of the entire production.
The day the house burned
A real cinematic treat is the nearly 10-minute, dramatized reenactment of a firefighting operation using a historic horse-drawn pump harnessed to two horses. For this scene we built a wooden structure resembling a small house – and then set it on fire to film a real firefighting operation. It was the most spectacular and logistically demanding part of the production.
A professional studio worthy of the story
For the interviews we created a temporary recording studio in which historic OSP banners from Łętownia served as the backdrop. Thanks to this, each interviewee – regardless of place and circumstances – was captured in an atmosphere that does honor to this unit.
The film is just the beginning
After the premiere we handled promotion: campaigns on the Association's and OSP's social media, an informational mailing to newspapers, magazines and television stations (including TVP3 Kraków), and a set of over a dozen short-form videos for YouTube Shorts and TikTok. A story that until now lived in the memory of a handful of people is today watched across the whole region.
