From theory to brand
The work on the Travel Light brand began with understanding the ILP theory created by Ken Wilber, and only then Sebastian Spyt's original approach to that theory. Along the way we learned that the ILP approach rests on four main pillars: meditation, work with the body, work with the mind, and work with the shadow, which focuses mainly on psychological aspects.
Four connected symbols
Understanding that these four pillars must be practiced together — and that only together do they create the fullness of human experience — became the foundation of the visual identity. For each of the four elements we created a separate symbol. Because these elements remain in relationship with one another, their symbols also remain connected.
Meditation and Body are represented by triangles, while Mind and Shadow by circles. This approach is based on Gestalt psychology theory, which Sebastian Spyt also uses during his workshops.
A lightweight, natural visual language
We opted for a bright, mint green that evokes lightness, a bond with nature and trust. A strong visual element is the green brush strokes and paint splashes — they introduce an element of "culture" into the "natural" background, once again showing the fullness of human experience. Playful, childlike splashes also emphasise the brand's leitmotif: to travel through life without unnecessary baggage.
A one-pager that guides
The site is a classic one-pager that guides visitors through all the essential information: what the ILP approach is, how it affects life, what the workshops look like, an FAQ section, and a few words about Ken Wilber — the creator of ILP. The whole thing is complemented by a workshop sign-up form and a nearly 10-minute film in which Sebastian Spyt talks about the ILP approach, Ken Wilber and his own take on the theory.
