Glossary: key terms for companies in digital transformation

A company's digital transformation is not only new tools and processes, but also an entirely new language. For many people, abbreviations such as LLM, SaaS, MVP or CRM may sound foreign — but it is precisely these that hide enormous business potential. We have therefore prepared a glossary that explains the most important concepts from the world of new technologies, business process automation and digital marketing.

Technology and business process automation

Low-code / No-code development

Methods of creating applications and digital solutions without the need for programming (no-code) or with minimal involvement of it (low-code). Ideal for quickly testing ideas, implementing automation and prototyping.

Process automation

Replacing repetitive activities with automatic flows of data and actions. Example: automatically sending forms to a CRM, generating reports, handling leads.

API (Application Programming Interface)

A mechanism enabling integration between different systems and applications. Thanks to an API, you can, for example, connect an online shop with invoices or a CRM with an e-mail marketing tool.

SaaS (Software as a Service)

A model for delivering software in the cloud – the client does not install the system locally but uses it through a browser, usually in the form of a subscription.

MVP (Minimum Viable Product)

The minimum version of a product that can be quickly implemented in order to test business assumptions and obtain feedback from users. A key stage in creating digital products.

CRM (Customer Relationship Management)

A system for managing customer relationships, sales and communication. It allows you to track contact history, plan follow-ups and analyse sales data.

LLM (Large Language Model)

An advanced AI language model (e.g. GPT-4) that can generate text, translate, analyse data and program. Used in chatbots, customer service automation and content creation.

GenAI (Generative AI)

A type of AI that creates new content – texts, images, sounds, code – based on input data. It is revolutionising the areas of marketing, design, customer experience and product creation.

IT systems integration

Connecting different tools so that they work together without the need for manual data transfer. Crucial in creating an efficient ecosystem of business tools.

Webhook

A way of transferring data between applications "in real time". Example: after an order is placed, a webhook sends the data to an invoicing or logistics system.

CMS (Content Management System)

A system for managing content on a website. It allows you to update content without knowledge of code.

PWA (Progressive Web App)

A web application that behaves like a native mobile application – it can be "installed", works offline and loads faster. An ideal alternative to classic mobile applications.

Responsive website

A website that adapts to the screen of the device (phone, tablet, laptop). Indispensable for good UX and effective SEO.

Digital marketing and analytics

Content marketing

Creating valuable content (e.g. blogs, e-books, guides) that attracts customers' attention and builds the brand's position.

SEO (Search Engine Optimisation)

Activities aimed at increasing a website's visibility in Google. It includes optimising content, site structure and link building.

The process of obtaining links to your site from external, valuable sources – it increases authority and position in search engines.

Performance marketing

Marketing based on concrete effects – clicks, leads, sales. It uses, among other things, advertising in Meta Ads and Google Ads.

Meta Ads / Google Ads

Paid advertising campaigns on Facebook and Instagram (Meta) and in the Google search engine. They allow precise targeting of ads to specific audience groups.

GA4 (Google Analytics 4)

The new version of Google's analytics tool – it tracks traffic on a site, user behaviour and the effectiveness of advertising campaigns.

Sales Navigator (LinkedIn)

An advanced tool for lead generation and B2B prospecting. It enables searching for companies, decision-makers and establishing sales contacts.

Lead

A potential customer who has shown interest in an offer – for example, subscribed to a newsletter, downloaded an e-book or filled in a contact form.

Retargeting / Remarketing

Directing ads again to people who have already visited your site – it increases the effectiveness of campaigns and conversions.

Summary

Understanding the language of technology and digital marketing is a competitive advantage today. You do not have to be a programmer or a marketer to consciously develop your company – you just need to have the right partner for strategy and implementation.
